Medical personnel of a cancer centre and two hospitals in India have started screening high-risk individuals for oral cancer using smart phones with camera. The condition is either diagnosed by using the pre-loaded software on the phone, or by uploading the data to the hospital's EMR (electronic medical records) system for specialist feedback. The patient can either be advised on treatment through interactive videos on the phone or referred to a specialist.
