This pilot project launched in June 2010 aimed at improving access and reliability of medicine supply using mobile phone technology. Real-time data collected with mobile phones helped tracking key drug stock levels and expiry dates across the supply chain. At the same time, monitoring of seasonal variation in the incidence of diseases should result in appropriate drug stocks to be procured and distributed.
